Solely designed for skinning, the handle is small, light and comfortable while the blade is short, thin, and sharp. The lanyard hole allows for use of a wrist strap in case of field dressing in the dark. The small integral guard allows for finger placement closer to the cutting edge without being a safety issue and the full flat grind makes deep cuts smoother and easier. Can be used for tasks other than skinning but I’d advise against using it roughly since it’s not designed for it.
Construction: The blade is 2mm thick 1084 high carbon steel. The handle is African Blackwood with copper liners and pins. Blade length is 92mm from heel to tip, with a max height (excluding integral guard) of 33mm. Total length is 195mm. Includes a 3mm thick veg tanned leather sheath stitched with waxed polyester thread.
Please Note: all of my knives are made with high carbon steels and are not corrosion resistant like stainless is. While both high carbon and stainless have their pros and cons, high carbon knives do require more care.
